rural school for children aged 0 to 12
The pedagogical project of Les Animals is based on the Montessori philosophy adapted to the rural context and enriched with creation and research as transversal axes. Children have access to manipulative materials and interdisciplinary proposals that promote a learning rooted in and connected to the reality of their environment, encouraging critical thinking and innovation.
Learning takes place both in the classroom and in the forest, the orchard, the village and the natural spaces of the estate. This situated pedagogy allows students to learn about the cycle of life, local biodiversity and natural processes first-hand, building a solid ecological awareness and a relationship of respect and care with the environment.
Teachers act as companions and facilitators, creating safe and stimulating environments where each child can develop their autonomy, creativity and critical capacity. Free play, the manipulation of natural materials and multisensory learning are essential for acquiring linguistic, mathematical, scientific, artistic and emotional skills.
Emotional and social education promotes respectful coexistence, empathy and dialogued resolution of conflicts. The school functions as a microsociety where children take joint responsibility for daily tasks, promoting democratic and cooperative values.
Les Animals is a village school that seeks to weave community and network with Gaüses and its surroundings. This permeability with the environment turns the territory into living pedagogical material. The school is also a center for cultural creation open to the community.
Les Animals offers nursery school, early childhood education and primary education.
